As the clock struck noon on December 31st, 2019, 4000 balloons floated down from the vaulted ceiling of Southcentre Mall over a record-setting crowd of children, parents, and mall patrons. Adorned with face paint and uniquely-crafted party hats, blowing noise-makers decorated moments before, they danced to the beats of a live DJ, and cheered alongside larger-than-life versions of their favourite TV and movie characters to ring in the (almost) New Year.

Many hours of careful planning and thoughtful collaboration lead to this moment. We worked closely with the team at Southcentre Mall to bring their family-friendly vision to life, sourcing heavy machinery, engineering an elaborate rigging system, and procuring entertainment and vendors. We laboured over every detail and logistical consideration in lock-step with the mall’s management and security teams to ensure safety and smooth-sailing throughout set up and day-of event execution.
